Confused about fragrance strengths?
Fragrance Strengths
Not all fragrances are the same. Some are much lighter than others, and not because of the type of fragrance they are. Intensity is categorized discreetly. Here's a quick breakdown of fragrances strengths. However, these are not cut in stone. They can vary fragrance to fragrance.
Fragrant body products: Creams, powders, aftershaves, and soaps that claim to have fragrance in them usually have less than 3% fragrance, hence giving off the lightest scent. They do however last a long time because they are absorbed into your skin.
Eau de cologne: Generally, hard to find in women's fragrances. This is a downgraded version of men's cologne (5%-8% perfume), with only 3% perfume diluted with water. It should linger for about 2 hours.
Eau de toilette: Very common strength sold by most fragrance companies. This alcohol or water-based perfume is quite light comparatively, made of only 3%-8% of perfume compound. This is good for summertime when perfume can become overpowering in the heat, and it is also good for younger girls who want to try out their first perfumes.
Eau de parfum: Common among the more expensive brands, with 10%-15% perfume compound, it is slightly lighter than a full-blown perfume, but usually almost as pricey. These can last from 4-5 hours.
Perfume: Somewhat hard to find in most fragrances anymore, perfume contains the highest levels of perfume compound with 20%-50%. It is strong, long lasting, and generally very expensive. Expect lasting fresh smells for 6 hours or more. Sometimes the fragrance is evident even after bathing.

Fragrance Review Escada S by Escada
Awhile back I received a sample of this fragrance and immediately liked it. It is not like any other Escada fragrance that I have smelled thus far. Usually, they are too sweet or fruity for my tastes. Escada S is much more sophisticated and elegant. However, it is a bit pricey. So, I have been just wearing it now and then when I want to feel a little special. As soon as I can get ahold of some I will list it in my online store. I hope you stop by and visit. PinknPretty Fragrances and More http://pinknpretty.ecrater.com/.
This is what the house of Escada has to say about this fragrance, "Escada S is a very special fragrance. It is intended for any occasion, any place on Earth, wherever you are, Escada S is the right choice. Designers of this fragrance wanted to create a perfume that celebrates adventurous spirit; ‘whether ski-ing the slopes of Aspen, exploring the museums of Rome, or mixing the perfect champagne cocktail…’ This a fragrance created to colour every moment, whatever you do, wherever you are. Sights, Style, Socialising and Surroundings. Escada S is meant for a woman that lives her life to the fullest; she brings color to her surroundings and to her inner-self. Escada S follows fashion trends which dictate; dare to mix the unmixable, accept diversity in any form. The composition that celebrates adventure and free spirit opens with with plum and blackcurrant combined with elegant rose. The floral heart blends almond blossom, rose and muguet spiced with red pepper. The deep base melts mahogany, sandalwood, musks and hazelnut. The bottle is elegant and modern that radiates with pulsating energy and liveliness of the world."

Understanding What is Meant by Fragrance Notes.
Do you ever find yourself wondering what perfumers mean by the "notes" of a fragrance? Here is an explaination that should clear that whole mystery up.
Perfumes are manufactured to open up and display their whole personality gradually. They are created based on three levels. These three levels are called the Top Notes, Middle Notes and Base Notes.
Each of these notes represents a different group of scents within the perfume’s aroma. The fragrance of each note progressively develops over time as a new note takes over from the previous note.
- Top notes - Are the ones that give us the first sense of the fragrance. They are usually piquant, sharp scents. These scents are made of light fragrance molecules and usually last only a matter of 10-30 minutes before they evaporate.
- Middle notes – Gradually develop as the top notes evaporate. The middle notes are more rounded, and mellow scents. They usually appear some 10-45 minutes after applying the perfume and last quite a bit longer than the top notes.
- Base notes – Appear just before the middle notes fade. They are usually composed of the deeper more sensual scents. These notes are made up of large and heavier scent molecules that take the most time to evaporate. The base notes in some fragrnces can often be detected up to 24 hours or more.
In conclusion, you could say that fragrance notes are a bit like friends. The top note is the casual aquantance thay you enjoy when you see each other, but don't really spend that much time together. The middle note is a good buddy that you really enjoy hanging out with, but is too busy to stay around for more then an hour or two. Lastly, base notes are your life-long, friends that stick with you through thick or thin and are your true soul mates. - Twiggs

What is your all time favorite fragrance?
Well, here is my first on target question. What is your favorite fragrance and why do you like it? It can be an ordinary fragrance like coffee brewing or cookies baking, but I am really looking for your favorite perfume.
Leave comments. I really want to know the answer.

Goodnight Friends
I've stayed up way past any normal bedtime. So, it's off to get some beauty sleep. I hope you all stop by again soon.
All Work and No Play!
Here it is 3:00 am on Friday morning and I am still working. I am totally intent on making my online businesses into a viable source of income for me and that is not easy in this economic crunch. However, I do not believe in selling things that I know nothing about so I sell what I love and what I understand. I love cosmetics, perfumes and things for the home, therefore that is what this blog is dedicated to. If you have any favorite (or not so favorite) products, post a little review here so other's will know what's good and what isn't so great.
Also, let me know what you would want me to add to this blog and I will add it. Hopefully, I will learn more about blogging just from doing it in the trial and error method.
